AX5000 servo drives can be equipped with optional encoder cards to integrate additional feedback systems. Option cards fit into the second option slot on the top of the AX5000; they offer the option of connecting one or two additional encoders, depending on the version. Typically a second high resolution encoder can eliminate gear or gear backlash for highly accurate position control.
